Thursday, 4/9 Update URGENT

Happy Thursday!  We have one more week under our belts of THRIVING in this challenging time!  Way to go Warriors I just received the following this morning, from Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera, regarding our not returning to school for the remainder of this school year. "This morning, I issued an order under Act 13 of 2020 to close all public schools through the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, as defined by the local school calendar. Additionally, Governor Wolf is ordering all K-12 schools and programs, public and private, to be closed through the end of the 2019-2020 academic year. Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, Head Start Supplemental Assistance Programs and Preschool Early Intervention programs will also remain closed, and institutions of higher education are prohibited from offering in-person instruction. All of these decisions were made in consultation with the Secretary of Health, based on the most recent information regarding COVID-19 as it relates to the health, safety, and welfare of students, school staff, and communities."  (Pedro Rivera) I KNOW that this information is both heartbreaking and creates tons of questions.  As of right now, this is all I know.  As I get more information about where we go from here I will share it with you. Our goal is to be patient and let the "powers that be" figure all this out.  Over the last four weeks the state has been working feverishly to ensure that our students are at the forefront of all the decisions.  I have no doubt that as we move forward plans will be forthcoming. It is NOW MORE IMPERATIVE than ever that we stay on track.  Our teachers will continue to send you materials to work on at home.  This cannot be a time to do nothing.   We can do this!!!!!  And we will do this!!!! Just a few reminders: 1.  No lunches tomorrow. Todays pick up includes today, tomorrow and Monday's breakfast. 2.  No emails from teachers or me tomorrow, we all have the day off. 3.  If you are looking for a good way to relieve stress....try coloring!  Yes, like we did when we were kids.  It is a great way to stoke your creativity and relieve your stress.  Give it a shot! 4.  Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.  (wash your hands)  (keep your distance)(eat some candy!!)
